Help Keep Wales Green at Plassey

As of 1st April 2024, all businesses in Wales are required to follow new recycling regulations aimed at making the country a zero-waste nation by 2050.

Wales has an ambitious target to recycle 70% of its waste by 2025 (which isn’t far away now!) and these new rules are a crucial step in achieving that goal.

At Plassey Holiday Park, we’re committed to doing our part to protect the environment and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come. And now, we need your support to make this recycling initiative a true success.

The New Recycling Scheme Explained

Under the new legislation, recyclable materials must be segregated and kept separate throughout the entire collection process. This means that instead of tossing everything into a single commingled bin, specific materials need to be placed in designated containers.

The materials that require separate recycling are:

  • Paper and Cardboard
  • Plastic, Cartons & Metal
  • Food Waste
  • Glass
  • Non-Recyclable Items

How It Works at Plassey

To simplify this process during your stay, within our dedicated Recycling Area conveniently located near the main entrance, you’ll find clearly labelled and colour-coded bins for each recycling stream, following the guidance from WRAP Cymru for consistency across Wales.

Our trained partners from Veolia will visit the park regularly, efficiently collecting the separated materials from their designated containers. This streamlined approach ensures that your recycling efforts remain organised and effective, from the moment you discard your waste to the moment it’s collected.

Your Role in Keeping Plassey (and Wales) Green

As our guests, we kindly ask you to take a moment to familiarise yourself with the new recycling system. When disposing of any waste during your time at Plassey, please segregate the materials and place them in their appropriate bins. If you’re ever unsure, simply consult the handy guide at the Recycling Area, or feel free to ask our friendly team for assistance – we’re always happy to help.

Together, we can all make a positive impact on the environment and contribute significantly to Wales’ ambitious zero-waste aspirations. After all, it’s the small, consistent actions that pave the way for meaningful change.

A Sustainable Future for All

At Plassey, we believe that every small action counts when it comes to protecting our planet. By embracing these new recycling regulations, we’re complying with Welsh law and actively participating in a larger movement towards sustainability.

Imagine a future where our beautiful country is free from the burden of waste, where resources are cherished and reused, and where our natural landscapes remain pristine for generations to come. That’s the vision that drives us, and we’re thrilled to have you join us on this journey.

So, Plassey guests, let’s get sorting!

With your support and commitment to recycling, we can ensure that your holiday memories are filled with fun and adventure, with the added satisfaction of knowing you’ve played a vital role in keeping Wales green.
